We spent a wonderful weekend at the Pleasant Lane Acres B&B to celebrate! Sadly, on the day of we must go back to school. However, there is no man I would rather be spending this day with whether in class or not. I am truly blessed to have such an amazing, loving, and supportive husband! I love you Babes!

Pleasant Lane Acres Bed and Breakfast

Pleasant Lane Acres Bed and Breakfast. This is the view from the tree lined drive

Pleasant Lane Acres Bed and Breakfast is located in Edgefield, South Carolina. The owners, Barbara and Don Rupert, are an amazing couple. Barbara and Don spent 10 years renovating an older farm house that is surrounded by 50 acres of land. It is now Pleasant Lane Acres Bed and Breakfast. The B&B is a true retreat. As soon as you walk in it feels like you came home.

Stephen and I spent this past Saturday night at Pleasant Lane Acres. It was the B&B's Valentine's Night. It was spectacular. Barbara is a self-taught gourmet chef. Her food is delectable! We enjoyed a 6 course meal, that was unbeatable!
The area surrounding the house, is a gorgeous, serene, peaceful retreat. We loved having the opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of graduate school to enjoy a night at
Pleasant Lane Acres.

Please visit their facebook page or website and take a look! We will no doubt be going back very soon!

If you wanna hear a little more about our stay at the Pleasant Lane Acres Bed and Breakfast...
read on:

Stephen and I drove to the B&B on Saturday afternoon. We arrived around 4:30pm and were greeted with a huge smile from Barbara. As soon as we walked in she showed us around the house, and took us to our room. We stayed in Stewart's Room, which looked out on the long driveway lined with trees as well as the horse pasture. Our bathroom was so cute! It had a claw foot tub (i love those!) and antique furniture that fit the home perfectly!

Pictured above is our room "stewart's room" with a roaring fire, as well as, our claw foot bathtub with heart shaped confetti that became a bubble bath!

After getting settled, we went downstairs the the bar to meet Don, we were greeted with a smile and a drink. Barbara and Don made us feel at home right away! We enjoyed conversation with Barbara and Don, as well as, the other couples staying there that night.
The cozy bar that looks into the Rupert's Kitchen, where we enjoyed conversation and cocktails.

After a mimosa (mine) and a margarita (stephen's) we took a stroll around the farm. We started at the horse pasture where we met the horses and were able to feed them to! We then walked to the entrance to view the gorgeous tree lined driveway. After walking around the farm, we went back in to enjoy pre-dinner cocktails, and hor' dourves.  Barbara prepared for us cantaloupe, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil skewers, drizzled in olive oil ... they were simply amazing.

Dinner time rolled around and it was a true treat! Barbara had prepared an amazing 6 course valentine's menu that was complete with a paired wine for each dish. I can truthfully say that this was the best meal I have ever had!
Our menu was Amuse-Bouche Goat Cheese Stuffed Peppadew, Cream of Artichoke Soup with Artichoke Crudette, Toasted Goat Cheese on Spring Greens with Almond Oil Vinagrette, Grand Mariner Sorbet with Mint (to cleanse our pallete), Grilled Filet Mignon with Portabella Mushroom and Burgandy Wine Sauce paired with Creamy Mashed Potatoes and Veggie Bundles, and to finish it off we enjoyed Lemon Crepes with Raspberry Coule and a cup of Coffee.
The presentation was just as beautiful as the taste of the food. There is no way to explain how amazing this meal was!

Barbara and Don pampered us to the max! We felt incredibly comfortable and cherished while we were guests. There was no schedule or certain times you had to eat, it was all on your own schedule, which only added to the comfort!
Please give them a call and reserve a night at the B&B you will not regret it!

so excited!

One of my greatest friends, Lindsey Norton, just got ENGAGED!
I am so excited not only for Lindsey and Russ but I have the privilege of doing an Engagement Session with them! We met the first day of Occupational Therapy School. Shortly thereafter, we met Russ at family day for Medical College of Georgia. They are such a sweet couple, down to earth, and so much fun to be around. We are doing the engagement session in March...I know a bit of time to wait! However, it will be worth the wait!!
This is Lindsey and Russ the other night when we were celebrating Krista's birthday!
